Medical Information

First Aid

We have a number of staff qualified to undertake first aid. Where your child has been treated by a first aider for any cut, graze, bump or bruise, you will be notified.

Where a child has bumped their head and there is a visible mark or swelling, parents will be telephoned and/or sent a message with advice given on follow up treatment.

Where a child requires emergency treatment, this will be sought by the staff ‘in loco parentis’ until parents can be contacted.

Infection Control

We understand when children are together, the risk of spreading infectious diseases exists and that we have a duty to promote the good health and well-being of all of our children, to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of infection and to take necessary action when children are unwell.

We follow all guidance provided by the Government and Health Protection Agencies and are kept informed of any infectious diseases that are of concern to schools, which will be shared with parents as soon as reasonably practicable.

Benedict's Law and Allergy Safety

Our school is committed to meeting the requirements of Benedict's Law, ensuring that children with allergies are supported safely whilst in school. We hold a number of emergency adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens) on site and have procedures in place to support pupils with known allergies.

Parents and carers must inform the school of any allergies or food intolerances so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Please see our Allergy Policy on the Policies page for further information
